5 Speed VS Wagon
Hi, I am having a bit of an issue with my wagon.
Few days back while driving to work I had a random check engine light come on(car still drove fine) same thing on the way home.
Next day it was idling between 1500-2000 continuously. Even when in gear(T5 Manual) you can feel the car pulling like it would have a sticky throttle, push clutch in and revs would be 1500-2000rpm.
Turned it on and off a few times and it ended up not idling at all, it would end up stalling at lights ect.
Noticed it had a manifold oil leak so I changed manifold gaskets over the weekend, along with a brand new IACV and 3 different TPS.
Got the car scanned today and it came up with 3 codes
32 - Mass airflow out of range
54- System voltage unstable
57 - Injector voltage minor fault.

So I've tried two different MAF sensors, both pulled apart and thoroughly cleaned.
Also checked for vacuum leaks from manifold and vacuum lines, still with no avail.

Hoping someone is able to point me in the right direction for some other things to try.

Thanks in advance

Have a solid week ahead legends!

Did you clear the codes and if so, did they all come back.
Before I got to the part where you replaced the IAC I was thinking IAC lol.
Lots of people having trouble with aftermaket IAC's, I believe Delphi is the most reliable.
Did you swap out the correct TPS, as early pre Eco's had opposite direction.
There were probably too many items exchanged at the same time.
Change/then evaluate.
Could still be a vacuum leak.

Yeah codes were cleared, and engine light came back on basically straight away. May have to try a delphi IAC.
The tps wasnt brand new, was just a couple of other ecos I believe one was a vs and one was a vt. May have to grab a brand new tps and give that a crack.
All parts were changed one at a time too and tested before removing/fitting another part.
Having a vacuum leak somewhere still is definitely still a possibility, hard to tell with the engine reving so high.

Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated!

....Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated!...
Love to help...

To try and ascertain a possible leak, use a length of flexible hose held up to your ear while scanning the other end around the engine.
The noise will come up as a pronounced hisssss.
You could also spray fluid around all the manifold to head junctions etc, as a gasket could be failing.
I advise against buying more parts until you have satisfied yourself there are no vacuum leaks.

I have gone over this and think that all those codes may stem from the Code 54.
Try and clear codes again, verify they are clear, then re-start engine and switch off as soon as you see the CEL.
Read codes to see if all 3 appear at once.
If so, the problem may well be the 54, with either a weak battery or poor connections, a malfunctioning Voltage Regulator in the altenator, or a regulation circuit in the actual PCM.

Check out the attachments from the Holden VS Service Manual. They may help you solve your problem.

Also, make sure your throttle cable is not too tight. Needs to have 10-15mm of play, refer to diagram below:
