Hey guys needing some help brought a VT commodore and noticed the break lights weren't working after awhile , My tail lights work fine and blinkers ,changed fuses, globes and break switch also cruise control switch and still can't get the break lights to work. Anyone had this problem or know what the problem could be. Cheers

that's quite a list of parts changed
most common cause is faulty globes
did you use quality stop/tail globes
if you are confident in your work check the plug connector
located in boot, drivers side near rear light housing
you may need an autoelec to have a quick look

My first port of call would be to check if you have power at the connector for the brake lights considering all the parts you have changed....If you have power there, check the earths..

That fails or is beyond your capabilities, an auto eleccy is the best port of call

Don't mean to disrespect any advice giving I had a blown globe in my new VX and the globe did both in the one socket.

You said the tail lights work so it can not be a earth issues. Testing power be worth a go at the fuse and rear.

Cheers Pete.

Similar but bit different.
2000 s2 calais with the head lights off tail lights normal.
With lights on,
Tail lights and 3rd brake light stay illuminated wheather braking or not, headlight and dash light slightly dim on braking.
Sorry to hijack thread.
Will start new thread.
Been using SEARCH cant find anything.
