I must admit that it is easier to read since you added paragraphs.

I have seen nothing from you that adds anything to the conversation other than being critical. I suggest you calm down yourself or try and think of something intelligent to say. You did yours already? I bet you paid a fortune. As a result of your mindless comments I have deleted those posts that would have seriously helped others.
If you replace the dryer every time I think I might start selling dryers to idiots. Don't need replacing in 10 years mate. The holden mechanics will tell you that. Why don't you suck the moisture out of your petrol tank? doh.

Clearly you are very mature.

As for how much I paid to do mine. $350 for a genuine V5 Delphi Compressor and Dryer and O-rings. Paid Auto-Sparky $100 to evacuate the system and re-gas it when I was finished, and I fitted it all up myself with the help of my Gregory's manual. Which in case you didn't know where out before you posted up the above reply.

Oh and in case you didn't see, I was the first reply to the OP.

I changed my compressor a few weeks ago and and paid $160 for an evacuation and re-gas, another place quoted $180, a lot more than you guys. I thought that the huge increase since the last time I had it done was due to the carbon tax. I paid $450 for a Delphi compressor for an LS1 and $25 for receiver/dryer. I wasn't sure whether I needed to replace the dryer but for $25, I thought, why not.

I used this guy for the compressor + dryer + o-rings, Commodore VT VX VY V6 Air conditioning Compressor Aircon A/C AC Pump NEW!! | eBay

I think I paid $100 for the evacuation and re-gas, but it might have been $120, but that was last year, around about November.

I've heard that the dryers last about 20 minutes once exposed to air.

Hi, so I've been going through all the air con threads because mine just isnt working.

Originally, I was getting regas after regas with dye and then I took it to a specialist and they fixed it and gassed it for $120 last year in feb. Pretty sure they replaced the O-rings or something can't find the invoice but it was amazing with the best chill not just cold air and now late this year, its blowing normal air, not cold at all.

Took it to the same guys and they opened the hood car wasn't on or anything and said you need a new compressor. I asked why and they said cos of all the green dye over the top of the compressor. Haven't got a second opinion or anything.

Should I definitely buy a new compressor ? Ive been quoted by air con places $450 - $650 - $800 - $900 and $1000. All the way up to $2500 if it stuffs up apparently ? Lol.

I think I'd only buy second hand cos the car isn't really worth buying brand new for. I've got a guy who can install and regas for roughly $300. Wish i knew someone closer in Melb to do it cheaper cos mechanics are a rip off especially if they know you're a girl.

Need help ASAP as I don't want to battle the heat this summer and I'm not willing to pay $600+ to fix it haha.

Depends where the leak is. If its just the washers again, than just replace those.

Have a look and see where the green dye is. If it is near where the hoses connect to the compressor then it is probably the seals again. If it is around the centre of the compressor (the metal ring around the centre of the compressor) then you will need a new compressor. Look at the bottom of the compressor as well. If you shop around you will get a new compressor for $300-400 and they are not that difficult to replace yourself.
