Yeah mate the bit that is broken of is stuck in the black switch. I can take a photo when i get home. You will have to fish it out or you will have to replace. I had to replace

down the bottom i have photo copied my invoice $26.15 was the price for the switch

i ended up jus callin a locksmith they can deal with it

For people that come across this post in the future!

Just to let you know the black bit can be taken off and you should be able to take out the broken bit worked as a wrecker.

you can also take the barrel out and use graphite powder to lube it up.

exactly what the locksmith did, i didnt kno much bout the ignition bit so left it to the pro

Barrel problems

I've tried everything most of you all suggested.

However, i'm still having trouble by pulling the barrel out,
I don't want to force it, I pushed the top part of the barrel, (spring bit)
and yet it don't work.

Any more suggestions.

thank you for this conversation, I am guessing that this is a regular problem with these cars. My ignition seems to have gotten worse and worse recently, until today when it simply will not turn at all. I will call for a locksmith tomorrow after work and hope that it does not cost too much. If worse comes to worse, I will purchase a new barrel and keys from Trademe for $65 (just keys - not electronic keys). thanks again.
