Thankyou devilly & derbatua;

"thing's i have noticed, where the blue hose connect's to the throttle body you will find a small hose underneath it.

this needs a tinny ring clamp on it to test if this is the problem put a zippy tie on it."

HOSE WAS NOT SEALED, ZIPPED IT UP

"also noticed the back plenum has those spring loaded clamps that over time loose grip.you may want to remove and put ring clamps on there as well"

ZIPPED IT FOR NOW, WILL CLAMP LATER

"check to see if the plenum has a hole for the egr hose to go into it,this will help rule out a few thing's."

NO HOLE

"aha, also check the big rubber hose from throttle body to air box area."

ALL GOOD

"also noticed the tempstat housing has a leak going on."

PULLED THE THERMO, WILL RE-GASKET

&

"also your maf isn't sitting properly, its twisted like 15% to much, maf's dont like not being in the exact position."

RE-POSITIONED

RESULT-
NO CHANGE IN CONDITION

could be a header is cracked,or a rubber line has come off near the brake booster then go towards the back of motor and check there, could also be a cracked spark plug.

that's why i'm asking as your loosing power is there any weird noises going on ? or sounding like timing is out.

have you check for fault codes, via bridging pins 5 &6 ?

There is a weird "pffft pffft pffft" noise when the car is under load and losing power, it goes away when I take my foot off the throttle.
It's only giving fault code 29, and that's only because the egr is not there.

still sounds like blocked cat
is this a constant fault or does it come and go
try disconnecting battery for 30 minutes. this will reset your fuel trims to base level

Can anyone tell me if a stock v6 3.8l 03 series 1 VY cat can be used on vt, or maybe a vs (because there's no egr) system. I'm still scrapping my old ride.

The cats type wont be affected by the presence of the EGR, the VY may fit, if the bends joins etc are the same get under yours and have a look.

For absolute simplicity get under the car and unbolt the cat and start the car straight out the extractors bet you it revs better, then you know 100% the cat is ####ed, not to mention you can just visually inspect the cat to see if its blocked.
