vt ls1 overheating need advice on why

Hey all. First of all thanks for having me here.
Ive been a long time commodore owner now drive a Navara. Even still love my Holdens! My missus has a VY calais thats overheating all the time. So yeah, i couldnt find a leak..changed thermostat in it...same deal..everyone said 'heads' ...guess what i did, took the heads off got new genuine gaskets, had the heads pressure tested and machined. Put it all back together took it for a run...overheating still!!!! Its seriously doing my head in. There is no radiator cap just a overflow bottle. Water pump isnt leaking so i assume its ok? Radiator isnt leaking...bled the top of the heads where the little crossbar goes..still pissing out coolant from overflow bottle! Its actually boiling in there! I would appreciate any fair dinkum advice fellas. Its really got me stumped

Changed the cap on the reservoir?

+1 for changing reservoir cap. Also, are both your fans working when the engine comes up to temperature?

No. I should tho..running it now just to see if the radiator heats evenly. I will buy a new cap today.
Start with that i suppose. Cheaper

Yeah the fans are both working..so cap first?

so what does it mean if all hoses are cold an the top hose is hot?
