VT passenger door issue

G'day,

Got an issue with the front passenger door on my wife's VT - it can't be opened or closed without first pulling the lock button up hard enough to hear a click sound. I cannot find a definitive answer to this issue with the search function as all other issues discussed seem to be different.

I have the door card removed. What do I do next, anyone know exactly what the issue is?

I'm keen to get this sorted as this car is our family car and "the rock" of our vehicles, other than a fuel pump issue at about 200k km we've not had any other issues with it in the +160k km we've had it. I'm hoping it stays this way after the radius rod bush replacement and the crank angle sensor is replaced.

Any advice/know how on the door issue will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks umair. Do I need the whole locking mechanism or the central locking actuator? Just trying to make sure I chase the part I need

I'd say just the actuator would do the trick

Actuator is F**ked get one from the wreckers make sure that it works(get them to test in front of you) because it is a fiddly prick to take & replace.

Buy new, it has a limited lifetime.
