Hi I have had a search of the forums but has anyone got a step by step guide or a pdf on
replacing the intake manifold gasket on a VT supercharged s pack.

It is losing water - no visible leaks and the oil is cloudy so pretty sure its a intake mainfold gasket.

Also the gaskets I will need to replace as well.

Thanks

Hang on a sec... your oil is cloudy? As in milky in appearance? That's usually a cracked head, not leaky manifold gasket. DO NOT DRIVE IT! You'll wreck your engine.

Usually when you get oil in the coolant (i.e. the coffee coloured gunk under the radiator cap) then you've got a busted lower intake manifold gasket. When that happens you can still drive it though, keeping an eye on the coolant level.

If it really is that gasket though, only buy this one!

Inlet Manifold Gaskets - Mace Engineering Group

Even if not from Mace, you can find them elsewhere... but buy the metal ones like this, not the plastic ones!!! The stock ones are plastic and if you replace it with a plastic one, it WILL do the same thing again eventually! Spent the extra cash now and fix it once and for all.

Also with the manifold removed, replace the PCV at the same time :)

EDIT: and maybe these too?

Supercharger to Lower Intake Manifold O-Rings - Mace Engineering Group

My engine isn't supercharged though so I don't know exactly what you need :)

The engine oil can become contaminated with coolant when the inlet manifold gaskets leak or blow, and these gaskets leaking/blowing is a very common problem on these V6 engines.

Best way to go is to pick up a workshop manual so you know what you need to do.
You need to drain the coolant
remove the fuel rails and push them to the side, no need to remove them from the car just unbolt the rail from the lim and twist them out of the way.
remove the charger, dfi module, alt, water pipe that goes into the lim. Also first remove all vac hoses and electrical wires...
Then the LIM. There is likely a bit more to it but thats about it.

Quite easy if you follow the workshop manual and do as it says and lable things if you think you will forget where they go.
you will need sealant, lim gaskets, the yellow "O" rings unger the charger or just get these holes welded closed, charger gaskets and thats about it. Just check for fuel leaks before you take the car for a drive

The LIM gaskets are very comon and its likely not a cracked head.

Hi Gentlemen,
Thankyou for your help especially for the link and the guide from nutcracker.
Yes there is no oil in the water so I'm pretty sure its a intake gasket.
Thanks again
