1998 VT wagon 3.8
New to here and new to commodores. Decided to put my build up for something to do haha.

1998 VT wagon.
reupholstered door trim in red/maroon as well as roof liner.
255/40/19 on the rear.
235/40/19 on the front.
WH front bar.

That’s it so far.
I was going to go down the clubsport rought with the body kit but I’ve seen it all done before. I found myself a flogged out WH in shitty condition, totally effed, so I decided to fit the WH panels and bits to the wagon.
Still need to install bonnet, find a grille, install outer door skins/moulds.

Before the sanding went underway. Cracks, stone chips, for some reason some thick ass underbody paint was used or something similar to spray the panel.

I totally agree, the Caprice grille looks great, but I'm pretty sure you will need to use the Caprice bonnet because the grille is attached to the bonnet.

I was going to keep the standard VT Hood and retrofit or make up a grill to suit, but don’t much like how it looks with the standard hood with WH front bar. I have a WH Hood, but unsure if it’s caprice or statesman. Not sure if they’re the same or if it even matters ‍♂️.

both wh bonnets are the same. Just different grilles.

My front bumper is a hybrid. I liked the caprice grille, but not the bumper.

I like the bottom of the vx ss bumper, but not the grille. So l did a bit cutting & plastic welding to get the hybrid. The bonnet is not been touched, except to paint it.

Your bumper is mean af, when I first looked at it I was like where the heck did he get that. Looks so good. Fair amount of time went into it or what?

I’m looking at fibre glassing a front lip onto my front bar.
Doesn’t seem like it’s going to be low enough for my liking without going to low with the suspension. Already have Super lows all round.

Yes, a fair mount of time went into it. Had to do it twice. About 2 months for each try. So , about 4 .5 months all up. But it was worth it.

I had the standard bar on while doing the work. I also have a mockup car for doing the work on. So when finished, l just take the standard part off, & put the modified part on.

I'll be watching your thread. Looking forward to the updates on your vt wh wagon. :)
