Vu l67 idle

Hey all my VU is finally running. It seams to be idling very high around 1000 RPM in drive and about 1500 RPM in park or neutral it also ' hunts ' when slowing at lights. Any common reasons. I bought the car with the motor already fitted and a used box that I had to fit as the converter had not been fully seated. So I dont know what else they may have stuffed up. The bloke I bought it of told me it needed a new auto but all I had to do was fit the converter up properly and then replace the engine mounts and oil pressure sender

Is the speed sensor connected?

Give the TB a good clean, especially the IAC stepper motor/passages.

Also check the vacuum hoses/connections for any leaks.

TPS could also be an issue

Check what memcal is inside the ecu. Been a conversion, it would have had a different tune on it more than likely
