if i remove electrical connector from sender switch- what temperature is showing on my gauge- where is it getting it (temp) from

pls

U shouldnt get any reading on the gauge. So uve either disconnected the wrong sensor, theres a problem in the wiring, or the gauge itself is stuffed. Sometimes they will default to max temp reading when disconnected, other times they stay at 0.

You should get a HOT reading, as the sender simply acts as a resistor, and no resistance results in dial defaulting to max.

It will probably read 0, The sensor is a 2 wire resistance to the PCM, which then sends a digital signal to the BCM, which then tells the instrument cluster what temp to show. A check engine light should also come on when its unplugged.
