I brought the car with the engine out as a forgotten project.
ahhh the missing piece of the puzzle
didnt think this was important enough to mention earlier

I mentioned that in my previous post on diagnosing the fault but this was one more directed at the PIM itself so didn't think it was necessary.

a quality scan tool should show if antitheft is working correctly

What in the BCM was faulty? Did they let you know?

No idea, was able to borrow a bcm and key from a wrecker mate to try. Auto sparky linked it and she was away. I pulled the board out of the case and didn't see any sign of damage. I'd say something got fried when I tried to start the engine and forgot the main earth, either that or sitting for two years caught up to it.

I had mentioned it in another post but it was ruled not a factor due to the dash OBD and fuel pump not working before I even tried to start it up without the earth. Auto Sparky said it could have effected the ECU but not the BCM, forget I mentioned it.
