VY SS HBD6speed manual 5.7ltrs of manual GRUNT!!!
Hi guy's and gals

I have a 2004 VY SERIESII, LS1 GENIII, 6Speed Manual and for some reason it's idling too high, namely about 850RPM and the manual states it should be 650RPM i have checked and replaced the following...

Spark plugs replaced (IRIDIUM)
Spark plug leads replaced(TOP GUN)
IAC valve replaced (DELPHI)
TPS Sensor replaced(DELPHI)
All coils tested against a brand new one.

Throttle body cleaned
MAF sensor cleaned
All hoses checked for tightness and cracks or leaks
Inlet manifold checked for leaks

I have noticed that it looks like the PCV valve has been bypassed would that cause it?

On the bottom of the Cable operated TB`s( VT2-VY2 LS) there is a small Allen key screw located vertically on the bottom of the tension spring for the cable. , this opens or closes the butterfly depending on which way you turn it, its a idle speed adjuster.

Is the hole in butterfly drilled out to a larger diameter than stock? stock is 3.5 mm check by placing a drill bit by hand into the hole if a 3.5mm fits snug......etc...
Is it Stock, tuned, cam?

Oh when you say Bypassed is it catchcan>plumbed somewhere else on the T/B/inlet, vented to the atmos, or plumbed with a normal hose bridge/ new piece to the same port on the intake manifold, or worse lastly sealed crankcase vents?

If the answer is 1 or 2 it won`t. if its 3 it could be blocked with oil gunk, clean with T/B carby cleaner or petrol, it if you can`t see through it, blast it out with air compressor if real stubborn.

VEGTS BUILT BLOWN E85
the manuals do idle higher like 800 and 650 sounds like a auto idle rpm, also if ur making changes and it's not fixing it then it sounds like it's set at 850 because if u make changes it will always try to get back desired idle rpm in the tune, if u can read it somehow and see what is set to then u know anyone with a tune prog or scan tool should be able to find out
