It’s ever so slightly different. Binds quickly in the thread. The 20 TPI does fit perfect. Doesn’t fit any of my thread checkers though. (Including imperial)

For the benefit of @op it won’t matter. The replacement swaybar links will have a more sensible thread and nylock nuts to go with it.

The sway bar links are super hard to find when listed as VY VZ tonner rear sway bar links. However they appear to be used on other cars and are cheap to buy and quick to change.

I don’t recall which car it was that had them though.

I’ll try have a look, pretty sure I had a thread about them.
I seen plenty of front links on eBay but no rears. Do you think I should take one off and take it to Repco etc to see what they have. your first pic with the ruler is what I want.

I’m trying to explain, you can’t get one for VY and VZ anymore. We have to be creative to solve the problem.

I have a VZ Tonner/Crewman rear link in the photo, on my bench with the ruler.

The link is 190mm centre of stud to centre of stud.

It so happens that the Ford Laser KN, and Mazda 323 of the same year, front swaybar links will fit as they have the same design and bolt size. They too are 190mm centre of stud to centre of stud.

You fit those to the rear of your VY/VZ tonner.

You ask for Ford Laser KN/KQ (1999-2002 front sway bar links.
They will be around $300 if you get them via bloody Repco! Get them off eBay. Make sure you get two.

Then you get the problem fixed.

Well let’s see when they get here. I’ve blown $26 on worse things. Things like a cheese burger from Uber eats.

I just scored a carton of beer at Dan Murphys for $5, so great bargains happen from time to time.

Well. It has been dropped and the Dan Murphys guy asked me to get all the trolleys from the carpark for him, but $5 is $5.
