When I removed the dash and console, I found the foam seals had come away from the vents and other fittings, so I have smeared a dab on black silicone along the edge were the seals sit to hold them in place.

I hope your 5 speed trans is a good one. :)

Would that work on an the V6 Adventra ?

It drove ok from Ballarat, nice and smooth changes, but the MIL was on,
I scanned it before I bought it, and the scan indicated bank 2 chains fault, and O2 Sensor fault, and the owner was up front and told me it’s needs chains, so I figured, I have plenty of time ATM to do them,
And the other items for a roadworthy,
Then I will order a Trans Service Kit,
I did check the oil, and it’s still Red and the level was ok,
I dont think it’s had a hard life in Ballarat, as an elderly couple had owned it for a number years,
But,
I found a couple of business cards under the back seat, and it may of had a few Mud drives in the past, going by the mud underneath, but it doesn’t have any drive train oil leaks, as it would show up on the mud stains.

I washed, cleaned the paint yesterday, and buffed it, sensational day for it,
But had the dirty rain today, :(
So it was time to move inside day ;)to
This looks familiar

Get some of this stuff from Bunnings. It’s where they sell flashing and flashing tapes in the trade area. This stuff is cheap and you get a fair bit. You can cut it to size and layer it to the thickness needed. Sticks really well after a wipe with IPA first. Do all your vents with it.

My local Bunnings in Mentone didn’t have that insulating tape you recommended.
But they did have a different brand “Moroday” Multi-seal in the door seal isle.

I have used this tape on the rear console air vents and fitted nicely.
Also on the front to rear of the console duct,
I will replace the old perished foam on the dash vents tomorrow,
Vac the carpet and start to re-assemble the dash and then the console.

The V6 Adventras got a bit more electrickery that the 8's didn't get, such as hill decent and esc. Not sure about the cross6 though.
