Dear Members,
I did my Timing Chains day (details will be in my Adventra Project Thread) What a Job !
I found something very interesting while pulling it down to do the timing chains,
The PCV Mod worked,
But [for one side of the manfold]
When I pulled it down and removed the PCV Pipe, in which had a "T" on it [at the back of the manifold] to cater for both sides of the intake manifold,
I found actual pipe was physically blocked !!!
This is why I had the caramel milk shake on the oil filler, and the PCV Valve/Fitting,
I tried to use compress air unblock it,
but it blew the rubber fitting off of the end of the pipe, where as some crap came out of the pipe,
Not as much as I expected being so blocked.
So my suggestion is to do the PCV Mod,
BUT,
remove the PCV Pipe and make sure its NOT Blocked, either side of the "T"
Also I did notice the pipe is VERY brittle, and I actually broke the pipe twice [snaped it] , which was a good thing,
As It gives me an excuse to replace PCV Vac Pipe/Hose.
I have fixed it temporary so I can move the car around,
But its off to Supercheap to get some Vac hose,
However, it will breath easier now after the clean down.
I did notice the the Right hand side Rocker Cover has like a little PCV manifold with in it,
It has some small holes that is part of the PCV system,
In my case, that was also blocked,
I first got some compressed air on to it, and blew some bits and pieces out.
But after some scrubbing with degreaser, then hosing down, then compressed air,
more cleaning down with degreaser and hosing down, and compressed air again,
and more cleaning with degreaser, and hosing down, and you guessed it, compressed air,
It was finally a bit cleaner and the PCV Manifold [is what I am going call it] was a bit better.
So you need to arm your self with some Vac hose, because i recon it will be a much better option just to replace it.
