VZ Handbreak Swap

Hi all, i'm going to change my gear selecter and handbreak to the leather items. Was wondering if there is a trick to getting the handbreak off as i don't want to scratch or break anything.

Does anyone know how to do it properly?

I've done it ... it was a few months ago, so the memory's a little scratchy ... I don't know whether it was the "proper" way ... I didn't wreck anything.

I had to raise the drivers seat as high as it would go to access the 2? bolts that hold the assembly to the side of the tunnel.
I also had to remove/lift up the centre console to disconnect/reconnect the handbrake electrical wire.
I used the existing cable that goes out and under the vehicle ... the one with that small locknut ... just make sure you mark or measure how far the nut is down the thread and put it back to the same spot.
