You can’t really judge a battery by it’s voltage when being charged or when it’s not doing anything … can you measure the voltage while cranking, eg get someone else to crank while you measure?

What you describe is classic battery-on-it’s-way-out.

Check the battery and starter motor cables sometimes they corrode and cause problems.

Is this for VF or VZ?
OP stated
Hi ,have a vz ss it is slow to crank
And his name is vzs64 while he also lists VZ SS as his ride…

If he indeed conforms it’s a VZ, then the thread should be moved to the correct sub forum.

In any case, if the battery has been load tested and is ok, he should check the starter motor and battery wiring as Losh suggested.

OP should also check why his gauges aren’t working as he may have some dodgy earth or power feed that is playing havok with the start circuit…

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
I ask because while everything says VZ, it’s posted in VF so best to check.

Yeah, understand that which is why i said "If he indeed conforms it’s a VZ, then the thread should be moved to the correct sub forum."
