Yo,

-timing chain replacement
looking for advice . Alligment of chains seem to be out by a few links , do i discard the chain markings and go off the bottom oil pump sprocket and line the dots to continue stage one .

dont worry about the chain markings they are only there for initial installation.
Once the motor spins they wont line up the same.

exactly what i'm referring too, currently at step 15 and found the chain markings don't line up with the dots on sprocket = stretched chain . Wasnt too sure if i should just ignore and follow sprocket+oil pump marks . feel alot more confidant after todays feedback.

oh so you are installing them again? if they dont line up while installing then yes you have a stretched chain, i was under the impression you were only inspecting them.
If need be upload some images so i can see what you're talking about.
The chain links all need to line up with marks on the crank/cams/idlers if installing them.
