I still think water injection is a waste of time ti'll never be good as an intercoole. Another problem you have to conside is water will take up space where air/fuel could be which will mean maybe a slight loss in power
I'll agree to disagree there, I understand that an effective aftercooler setup (technically an 'inter'cooler is between two stages of a compressor) will always eclipse a water or water/alcohol injection system for effectiveness and repeatability.
But in some situations, aftercooling is not possible or is possible at a greater length of troubles.
That's where injection comes in, you can achieve good results without aftercooling.
As for the water vapour taking up space, well, you're grasping at straws now, aren't you?
