Water pump ls1

Hey guys, I am replacing the water pump in my vt calais ls1 and am wondering do I have to add gasket sealant to the gaskets or can I just put the gaskets on and bolt it on without adding gasket sealer.

i made sure the mating surfaces were clean and just used the gasket. You add goop if the surfaces are not 100%

Add sealant if you want to annoy the next person who replaces it.

Best thing about ls engine is pulling it apart & slapping back together no sealant.
