Hi
The front plastic grille has white mark lines. Im not sure what has caused this if anybody has any ideas?

Im trying to clean it off but I cant seem to even scratch it off. Does anybody have any recommendations? Could a service\fluid leak have caused this?

thanks

I would suggest that you have left some sort of residue from a cleaning product on there and it has streaked back when driving, causing the black plastic to bleach.
How do you wash your car? By hand at home or car wash place?

Thank you for your replies, your time is appreciated.
I have always hand washed the car using only Meguiars wash and wax.

Gav376, thank you, I will find that product and try what you suggested.

My Calais has this developing. I usually spray it with the Holden tyre shine and looks good.

Thanks for the advice. I took Gav376 advice and after using a microfiber cloth and wiping it with force it mostly came off.
cheers

Glad it helped.

Gav376 is right 303 Products Aerospace Protectant is great stuff and it is one of my favorite detailing products as it will usually do a prefect job for most faded trim pieces.

Though if your trim is faded to the extreme then you may need to go for something a little stronger and a few years back when I was having trouble getting a chalky plastic bumper back to black on a car I was restoring, Car Care Products introduced me to Black Wow and it worked a treat.

You only need a spot about the size of two pin heads to do the job but be aware it is extremely oily and even though the Black Wow website says to leave it a week to allow it to soak in before washing it down, I found it was easier to wash the area after about an hour to remove the residue and still achieved fantastic results.

It comes in Black Wow Classic and Black Wow Pro.

That link was used just to provide an example of what the product is as that is where I buy it from.

If your trim is that bad you need to purchase it and it shouldn’t be on a newer vehicle if the car is reasonably looked after then you can get it from here until Car Care Products restock and I would guess a search would bring up other retailers.
