GMB water pump on my VC for the past 6 years at least that I remember....

Being such a nice fella, I use pure tap water to look after it too....Waiting for it to spring a leak and fail

Tap water will probably result in calcium buildup. It blocked the release valves on my hot water system.

Sounds like you got one of the Japanese GMB's before they sent manufacturing to China.

Might have....All I know is, it's as old if not older than I mentioned and is still doing it's job despite me neglecting it with tap water instead of coolant

I was going through GMB and Gates pumps every six months.
Was that on your VR didn't that had an issue with the tensioner in the end? How far did you drive it weekly out of curiosity? the couple i' ve put on in the last few years are still going .

Yeah, it was. Yes I replaced the tensioner but I was doing anything I could in the end to try and resolve the issue. It was always the seal that was going. Others have had the same issue.
