What are the dimensions of a VH 202 auto wagon tailshaft

I need help, my mechanic told me I need a reconditioned tailshaft for my VH 202 auto wagon as I had bad vibration he said the CV is rooted,

so Ive found a so called tailshaft specialist place the is in bankstown, bought one as they were having a sale from $430 down to $387, after I paid they asked if it’s a V6 or V8 ( but mind you i told them 4 times during the chat for a 1982 Vh 202 wagon and they told me they had one, but after I paid they ask if it for a V6 or V8, I replied it’s a straight 202 3.3 6 cylinder

now they ask for the dimensions of the spiline and length, wouldn’t they have the measurements on their system, would anyone know the measurement?

Also it’s a black VK 202 motor in it, I don’t think there’s any difference but just in case is there any difference because of the VK motor

About 2 years ago, I had my VC tailshaft done...It had new C.V put in, 2 new universals, shortened slightly and re-balanced for $600 ish through Hardie Spicer....

EDIT: Just found the receipt for getting my tailshaft done....It cost me $606.10 back in September of 2020.....And that was with all the work I mentioned

This is my original tailshaft and it had 2 dents near the unis, where someone got heavy handed with a hammer getting old unis out. It is perfect now

By the sounds of it, the alledged tailshaft specialist you are dealing with is a tossbag....Same applies with the mechanic....The C.V can be changed over for $200 to $300....No need for a new tailshaft...

Do some googling for Hardie Spicer...They are an Australia wide company that deals with tailshafts

hmm, i might have to cancel the order and get my money back, ive just checked their website that they have on their ebay account and its bogus, nothing comes up, and i cant find the dimensions to give to them anyways,

they have over a thousand reconditioned tailshafts listed, that why i wrote to them to see if they had a 202 VH auto wagon one instock and they said yes, but after i paid they asked if it was for a V6 or V8 ( mind you during the chat i said for a 1982 VH 202 auto wagon 4 times to make sure they had it correctly) and now they needed the dimensions

yeah, as i said they said they had one in stock, I told them 4 times over the cause of chatting if they had one for a '82 202 auto VH wagon to triple check, but only AFTER i paid they asked if it was a V6 or V8 and asked for dimensions, which in my mind says they didnt have one and need to make one,

also they told me to buy the v8 sedan one that they had listed and they will send out the 6 cyl wagon one

tried to cancel the order but gets this back on ebay

I wouldn't know, my mechanic told me I needed a new tail shaft as it has vibrations, I would have to ask him for the measurements, I thought you guys were a tailshaft specialist, wouldn’t you have the dimensions on your system, cheers

I can only suggest getting onto them.....That conversation shows me, they're a specialist B/S mob....Any place that knows their stuff would have the parts easily identified ready to despatch....Not to mention asking if it is a V6.....

So best of luck and I am sorry I can't give diamentions as my car is a sedan
