My Ctek has options for car or bike batteries.

I want to stick the bike on charge but not sure if the charger is too powerful for such a small battery? I have heard of bike battery chargers but again not sure if they are really needed?
A Ctek MXS 5.0 has the following specs

Technical data
  • Charging category AC charging
  • Input 220–240 VAC, 50–60 Hz, 0.6 A
  • Output 14.4/14.7/15.8 V, 5.0 A
  • Battery chemistry Lead acid
  • Battery types 12 V:; WET; MF; Ca/Ca; AGM; EFB; GEL
  • Battery capacity 1.2–160 Ah
  • Back current drain* Corresponding to less than 1 Ah/month
  • Battery voltage 12 V
  • Ambient operating temperature -20 ˚C to +50 ˚C
  • Start voltage 2.0 V
  • Ripple** Less than 4 %
  • Temperature compensation Built-in compensation of charging voltage based on ambient temperature.
  • Degree of protection IP65
  • Warranty 5 years

So if your bike battery is 1.2 Ah or more it won’t be an issue using the CTek charger.
IIRC, many mid size bike batteries are around 10Ah

Best check the specs for your charger to be sure.. or get a CTek :p

What battery is in that VY ?

o_O
A Red top hydrodipped in brushed stainless.

It’s died now unfortunately so it’s a regular boring battery again now.

No this was a freshy :D

I suspect relocation was for an urgent kid car or a skidder with the intent that the Senator would just get a new one. But then clearly it needed one before said purchase. I know how things happen around here now after all of these years :p

I have decided that car shows in general are just full of salty people no matter what

One of the judges came over to chat to me after the event to say how much he likes my car and why they picked mine etc and then was telling me the horror stories of abuse they get every year from people about the judging criteria and results. What an awful job. They are volunteers!
