AFAIK they are not overly hard to rebuild. I would rebuild my own but the cams can be tricky, so I am told, so I'd rather pay a few bucks and know it's done right. Still come out way in front by not paying a workshop, who would probably use Repco or Burson's as their supplier.

Should really be fixing/finding out causes for issues but since it's not a daily anymore, it just comes out every couple or few weeks and I just enjoy using it.
Did this again today, beautiful day weather wise as well.

VS Acclaim L67 manual
Well, today I lamented about my dented bonnet. I pulled it off my VS to put an L67 in it and it blew over in the wind to hit the only upturned planter pot in my fcuking backyard. Arggh! Seriously. The car is completely dent free. We can put a man on the moon but be can't change an engine without denting a bonnet!

I have a serious dent in one of my bonnets from an old desktop computer that was in the shed. The cardboard box below it turned to mush one misty night, and a Pentium 1 case fell from a fair height and went whack, corner first, onto the bonnet.

If it wasn't a variatonic pump i could get one for $158, the dearest price was repco at $530

Come again? PS pump for what model?

The only difference for the variatronic steering on the V6 models is the lack of the pressure control valve in the back of the pump. Get a standard PS pump for a V6 and swap the rear fitting over from the original pump and you are good to go.

edit: I knew I had a pic somewhere of the differences between the 2 pumps.
On the left is the variatronic fitting and the right the standard PS pump high pressure fitting (with pressure regulator valve).

Took the lh rear wheel off to adjust handbrake tension on that side.
It was so funny with my 1y/o son pushing in front of me for a closer look at the disc.
And then when i was under the car (removing caliper) he was helping by climbing over me. Or climbing on the wheel we had taken off.
Kids are awesome.

Anyway, got adjustment sorted and now handbrake is good on about 3-4 clicks.

Please please please make sure the jack handle is put away when the kiddies are about, my boy let the jack down once when his grandpa was under the car....

...oh and the car keys are out of reach before the age of 2, mine was in the car, correct key in the ignition hanging off the steering wheel trying to push the pedals.

@immortality i have a '97 V8 VS Statesman (HSV Enhanced Model)
A standard PS for a V8 start at $158 on eBay
The cheapest variatonic i could find was $285
The V-PS units seems to be about $50 more in most brands
Repco quoted me around the $479 for standard and about $520 for the variatonic.
