A 'road test' from USA about a Chev Blazer EV (cough, gag) which didn't go as planned.
Bit of a read, but I found it interesting, in a funny/strange way ........

https://www.msn.com/en-au/motoring/...E&cvid=a2ad236649854a67820f2eec2d59d762&ei=31

The farnarkling required to drive and charge one of these new fangled horseless carriages is beyond my comprehension.
Why is it necessary to have so many phone apps and and a computer hackers knowledge to get mobile and listen to music ?
Yeah. It is 21st century technology which is a must have to survive in the commercial world.......... but really truly ???

And GM / Cadillac are returning to Aus with their latest and greatest reliable products soon. :p

Small and medium sized EV's make sense, large EV's don't as the weight penalty for the ever increasing battery size required to get a decent range is self defeating. I have little faith in GM these days.

Should check out the new EV Hummer. With all the bells and whistles fitted apparently it's over 9000lbs or 4.5 tones to have a theoretical range of about 360miles. Have we reached peak absurdity yet?

Agreed, ugliness the Cyber truck wins but in some tests I saw the Cyber truck out performed the EV Hummer. One of the big things they always boast about is torque and acceleration, the Cyber truck was quicker than a Porsche whilst towing the exact Porsche on a trailer but **** like this just isn't relevant in the real world.

There is some innovative stuff on the Cyber truck but we'll leave that for a different discussion.

That was one of Elon's alternate facts.
He boasted about the trailer trick over a 1/4 mile drag race, but it was quickly discovered it was 1/8 mile drag race, with the Porsche reeling in the Cybertruck at a rate that negated the initial result.
Much ado about nothing that relates to everyday usefulness for Fred Everage.

Yup, you see they cut the footage of the race as the Porsche catches the Cybertruck in acceleration. Problem is, do that a few times at traffic lights and you then quickly need to pull over and find a fast charger to make it to your next destination. Instant torque is great but so is the current draw to get it.

You can’t consume your way to carbon neutrality. Lard arse electric SUV’s are greenwashing of the highest order.

I’d have far more respect environmentally for someone driving a ICE Hummer over a EV Hummer at least the person owning the ICE version is being honest with themselves about not caring about carbon emissions unlike the EV owner who is pretending they are reducing carbon emissions.

Four and a half tonnes worth of embodied carbon emissions (and other environmental impacts) is in no way environmentally friendly.
