So some smokers aren't mentally or physically in control of their own actions and some are? LOL! Yeah, right...
like i said in my previous posts, my father gave up cold turkey when he wanted to many years ago on will power alone. my mother on the other hand has given up smoking more times then i can count (a few times for medical reasons) but has always ended up smoking again. she has probably use all the aids available. this time around it's been about 9 months. so yes, i can say that will power is only part of the equation. the problem with quitting smoking is also that although you may want to quit, there are many situations where you encounter other smokers and 2nd hand smoke which would be the equivalent to a alcoholic walking through a shower of alcohol.
the medical consequences of addiction are well proven
