I got an auto trans cooler for my VX.... should I still run the trans oil through the radiator first then into the cooler and back to the trans.... or just bypass the radiator and go straight to the cooler..... I thought maybe still through the radiator first cos this way some of the heat get removed before the oil goes into the cooler....

No you shouldn't.

Plug off the lines to the radiator, run a direct trans cooler.
I got to see first hand what happens when the lines in the radiator rupture.

Apart from new transmission, the top end needs pulling down to clear any water jackets of left trans fluid etc.

This is one of the stupidst designs i have ever seen.

Hope that helps
