Where to get Eaton Tru-trac for best price?

Hi, I am looking to get an Eaton Tru-trac for my WK Caprice. Anyone know where to get one for a good price? I have found them for $625 but it seems a bit steep? Also I need a set of new genuine 3.73 diff gears. Would Holden be the cheapest for these? Thanks guys.

$625 is a pretty damn good price for a Tru Trac (are you sure it's a Tru Trac?). Factor in the install price too.

What do you mean 'genuine' 3.73's? And why do they need to be new? I doubt Holden will sell 3.73's, no Commodores (to my knowledge) have them. They're a Borg-Warner diff and product, so you're probably going to have to look after market or to some other car with the same diff that has them.

That price is about right for an Eaton TruTrac I believe. The Harrop TruTrac are usually around $1300-$1400 but they are stronger.

Yes, the Harrop units are stronger, but than how much power do you intend to put through it?

I think HSV did release some models with 3.73 gears.

Can't list them all off for what it's worth, but my VXII R8 Clubsport is rockin' 3.73 diff from the factory

Also the VZ SSZ`s are suppose to have 3.73`s.

Yeah, the Clubsport, the GTS models had 3.9's

I think 3.9's or 4.11's are ideal if you have a T56 6 speed trans with the .50 6th gear O/D
