Fusion stuff seems to have really gone down hill, i had a fusion amp running to fusin 12's, first the amp blew, then i got a kicker amp and it killed the subs. So now i have two clarions and seems to work well, so id say second one too.

A subwoofer, its a Clarion 12" but not sure on the specs, as i havn't got it yet.

I think, but dont quote me on it, its:
Single 4-ohm voice coil
Music peak power (W) 700
Continuous power (W) 250

Neither??
Find a Mono with ~250W (slightly more if possible). Could get a 2channel and bridge to make ~250W.
250W is what your aiming for, slightly more on the amp so you give the amp some headroom and not clip. My quick 2cents.

neither of those amps a prime for running that sub. i know the fusion amp, as that is what we use to power the subs at work and it really doesnt have that much power behind it , yes it will run it BUT to get the most outta that sub you'd want AT LEAST! 250w rms. have you had a look at the jaycar gear? thats what i run and it will leave you enough leeway to upgrade the sub at a later point and its reasonbly priced !!!:)

If the fusion says never used but coming from a private seller, would not trust it.
I have been out of the audio game for a hell of a long time now. But from quality wise I would def say the clarion.
But if you want to do it properly and not twice I would follow advise given by Deutscher.

Are you planning a budget build or is this going to be a permanent system. I'm a firm believing in the moto "do it once and do it right".

Firstly are you installing this in a Commodore? I personally wouldn't bother purchasing either of those 2 amps. A 250watt RMS sub, in a vehicle the size of a Commodore, is going to do SFA( and that's giving it 250, which those amps won't). Maybe whilst your stationary it may be audible, but once underway, the extra intrusion noise will most likely drown it out completely. IMO, you'd be better of upgrading your front stage.Subs can sound great in the right application, when installed and tuned properly, but i'd be more inclined to spend my money on something more suitable for day to day listening..My 2 cents..
