pretty sure the 1uz only weighs 50kg more than the 4ag.

AND, the REAL reason people like 86's so much is because once upon a time they were cheap in japan. but we got the takumi tax.

s13's are the new 86's in japan.

even 50kgs more in an ae86 (base weight of 950kgs) is alot.
thats more than an extra 5% of weight added =P

just looked it up and its 110kgs more then the 4agze. extra 10% weight added =P
not exactly the best for its weight distribution (which is just about 50/50 anyway)

and yeah i do like keeping cars classic sweefu.
and i keep telling my grandma ill buy it (or drive it =P).(or cardboard body kit it when she is away on holidays =P)
and she is like... no (even though she wants to sell it).
one day ill coax her into it, and if i do it will always look 100% stock on the outside. even down to the toyota wheels =P

VS berlina
just buy a VN V6. its built for drifting =P

drifting does look fun. i wouldnt mind trying it one day as ive never done it before.
if i was to ever build a street/drift car id have to grab grandmas car.
AE86.... one of the best drift cars ever
dump a 1-uz in it with the 8 throttle bodies and a supra box behind it leaving it completely stock on the outside.
now im thinking about it... next holiday she goes on ill do this =P

your grandma has an AE86 sprinter!? i love those little bastards! haha
am i invited to christmas dinner? lol

Cheesy, that is impressive mate. Is the car also your daily driver? What sort of modifications have you done?

Yeah, its my daily driver.
As for mods
Cam, exhaust, HSV diff, coilovers and a good clutch
Im upgrading all the suspension atm getting ready the next season. Got all aftermarket lower control arms, trailing arms, sway bars, link kits and more
For the future im undecided to go a new 427 lsx or just add some F/I to this engine
I cop alot of slack for drifting my ute but i love it

vs commodore ute (manula 304)
good to see the feedback :D
I get a few people respond poorly to a drift vs based on your average p plater spinning an open wheeler pulling out onto the road with the sub rattling the number plate off the boot giving the vr-vs a bad reputation. i thought of going for a light sedan with your typical turbo'd engine untill i noticed a vs maloo at barbagallo with a top mount super charger on a decent 304 build killing it! i figured my stock 96 vs 5L was a bad starting point... i find it sweet to drift once its out but it needs more power for higher speed slides and some decent suspension :D that'll get me started anyway

Great sport to watch that's for sure. My mates do it and we even went to japan and they compete in the G1GP. I went with them in november this year and had great time. They got good placings and are doing it again next year. I'm going to back with them next november to watch, can't wait.

They also competed in the first round of ADGP at Calder, that was a great weekend away too.
