Cost me around 250 to get mine fitted a couple years ago, change diff ratio in tune as well,it was a new genuine 3.7 so it already had oil in it.
lsx powertrain in perth did it,cradle doesnt need to come out, only couple hours work.

Cheers - both mechanics today said they wanted to remove the cradle to do it which probably explains the $900 quotes. So that has to be it, it'd be a heap more work to remove the whole cradle...

One of the best mods i did to my wagon, picked up a few tenths with diff gears, wouldnt have run a 12 without the diff gears.
Best bang for buck mod on any na combo imo :)

Yes I've read this before. The 2.92 diff isn't terrible at all but the standard tuning for it so heavily favours economy. Also, running an open diff in the Calais/Caprice with the L77 engine is ridiculous really, and adds to the sub optimal acceleration factor.

I have a calais V that had 2.92. I considered birth 3.27 and 3.45 and went with latter. Glad i did, as i ended up putting in a cam too…..

Nice! The issue with the 3.45 is you have an extra gear change before 100 with factory rear rims. How does it feel though versus the 2.92? Assume you got your transmission tuned also to tweak/optimise shifts?

It’s awesome…. Great low down response.

Most of my driving is around town so don’t notice the 100 km gear change

Yes got trans tuned
