So, for some years, manufacturers have been making cars with LED high mount stop lamps and incandescent brake lights.

For some reason, Holden built the WL series with LED brake lights, and went on about the increased safety, yet, chucked an incandescent globe in the high mount stop lamp.
So, I've decided to DIY an LED stop lamp.
I will post up a DIY, only issue is, how the hell do I access the stop lamp?
On my previous commodore it sat above the parcel shelf, easily removed. In the WL,it's below the parcel shelf.

Can someone advise me how to remove the stop lamp assembly?

Thanks

Open boot and it should be under the metal parcel shelf

On mine just below the light on the of the boot. Easily accesabile. You could just chuck a led bulb in there. Where you thinking a light strip style. If so I would thing the parcel shelf will have to come out.

I know how to remove the globe lol and im not chucking one of those weak eBay LED gloves in there.
I've already got a veroboard and some high output 5mm red LEDs, and resistors, so I need to know how to remove the whole assembly from the car

Thanks for the diagram but as you can see it skips all the steps I'm having issues with. Namely, removing the parcel shelf..

I've undone the rear seat base, undone the 13mm seat bolts for the back rest and tried to get it to slide up, it won't move. Maybe because I have a WL, the seat belts go thru the seats and it won't come loose.
Help??
