Imagine complaining about capitalism while actively investing in shares thereby fueling capitalism. Don’t act all high and mighty pal.
One minute he is poverty stricken and is on a benefit and the next he is dealing in shares. Perhaps it makes sense but not to me.

"the next stage of planning would only proceed if 50 per cent of the community supported the proposal, and the service introduction would only be delivered if at least 80 per cent of the community committed to it"

Losh needs to lobby the town folk, not Tas Water.

Welcome to privatised utility services!

Yep. Dead in the sewage water is my understanding of what Losh inferred regarding the resident's reluctance to go ahead with this.

Imagine complaining about socialism while actively driving on public roads. Don‘t act all high and mighty pal.

Blimey, you must be fairly remote. Mind you, in saying that, I suppose you've answered your own concerns by saying TAS Water can't make you do that.
About 30 minutes from Town. Some of our township has sewer, some doesn't. I seriously doubt anyone at Saturdays meeting will support it. Going by our FB Connect Page there are lots of locals who are saying no way. I don't know if those with sewer get a say or not as it doesn't really affect them.

So only socialist countries have roads?
I've paid for said roads with my taxes whether I like it or not. Investing in shares is 100% a choice.

Out of interest, and I don’t know if you know, but would a property that is on town-water and town-sewage be valued higher than a property without?

i.e. I’m wondering if the capital costs of the connection might be ‘recouped’ in a possible increase in the property value?

I doubt it. Maybe increase value a little but not $80k plus a heap of interest. We only paid $120k for the land.

Yes. We are a socialist country, as are all countries that collect taxes and spend them on the common good. It’s only the degree of socialism that varies.

Driving on roads is 100% a choice too, you could walk everywhere if you disagree with socialism so much. Oh and make sure you don’t avail yourself of the ambulance, fire or police services, they are socialist too. .
