Battery getting fully drained. Need help!

^^^, measured with a 0.00 digital multimeter. Its gone 3 days now without showing any signs of going flat. Im not sure what this means, as nothing really has changed except the regulator on the alternator. So either that was the problem or it has just decided to stop doing it. I suppose...

Battery getting fully drained. Need help!

Dannyboy, yeah checked that the alternator is charging. Well its gone 2 nights now without going flat. So it may have been a problem with the regulator, its hard to say at this point. I will leave the car sit all of today and overnight again and see what happens tomorrow. Fingers crossed it...

level 3 cluster into vs exec??.

To get the digital trip computer and odometer to work you need to make some wiring loom mods. As fas as i know, if you just swap the cluster the speedo, tacho, fuel and temp gauges work but you need the trip computer control (which replaces the speed alert) and some re-wiring to get the digital...

    Central Locking - Removing Actuator.

When i replaced mine, all i did was unhook the rod that goes from the actuator to the lock (the bit with the red tab that you have to take off to get the door trim off) itself. It comes off easy, its just hooked in through the hole in the top bit of the actuator that moves up and down. I...

Battery getting fully drained. Need help!

kopper and VrWagz. When i tested for current draw, i tested it with a multimeter set on amps as you have mentioned. With the multimeter connected, i opened doors/boot and turned on stereo to check current draw. With each accessory on, the current draw went up and then when the accessories...

    Interstate rego transfer?

Hi guys, Whats involved in transferring rego between states. If i was to buy a car from another state (im in QLD) what would i have to do to get QLD rego on it. Is it just a matter of getting it re-roadworthy'd (the roadworthy it comes with doesn't count in QLD) once i get it back to QLD and...

    Throttle position switch problem

Righto well sounds like i will be doing it myself. My dads a mechanic anyway so its not going to be a problem in terms on the technical side. I just wasnt sure if it needed going over by an auto lecky or not. The transmission mob said the sensor was buggered. While cruising on the highway...

    Throttle position switch problem

Hi guys, According to my auto trans specialist, i have a dodgy throttle position switch (or sensor if thats what you call it). How much would it cost for a new one and is it something that i can do myself or does it need to be done by an auto lecky? the trans mob referred me to an auto...

    VS Ratio Change

Yeah unless you have access to a workshop its probly not a job you can do at home. Firstly you need a hoist if you are going to do it with the diff/axel still in the car (well you could probly do it with out a hoist but i would not recommend it), and you will need pullers to get a few things...

Fuel smell in VR ute cab - problem solved!

Hi guys, As the title suggests, i have a solution to the problem of fuel fumes leaking into the cab of the VR/VS utes. I read a few threads a while ago on this topic and realized that a number of people were having this problem. My brother has been trying to fix his for ages, changing every...

    neewbie interested in some golf

Driving ranges are a good place to learn. They give you the chance to hit a few balls without having to walk around a whole course chasing your ball. Most will have on site staff to provide training, otherwise you can just go and teach yourself. They are cheap too. Otherwise if you have a few...

    Cruise Control

Im not sure if i interperated this correct, but have you actually engaged the cruise? Pressing the cruise button turns the cruise module on (CRS light on dash - its green on mine), but then you have to set the cruise for it to hold speed. When set, an orange ON light comes on the dash next to...

Federal Election nov 24, will it affect your energy use?

^^^ I fully agree, minux. Its not going to make me change my energy usage. (although i wouldnt consider myself using excessive energy anyway). And up here in Far North Queensland, water isnt an issue - we have TOO much water.

    Executive or SS

Executives are the base model commodore. So V8 executives are just a plain commodore with a V8 - no extras (unless it had factory options added). The SS's came with more factory options (power options etc.) and a spoiler kit. They are effectively the same car so you arent going to have one...

    Pod Filter for VR

The ones i have seen, people have made it themselves. Usually some thin sheet metal (or similar) and bent into shape to surround the pod. A heat resistant coating might also be a good idea to prevent heat dispersion.

Interesting reading for open-minded Holden fans

'The Falcon was ahead of the Commodore in almost every way except one - sales and general public acceptance' Hence proving the AU was a bad model? That is the most one-sided report i have ever read. I dont even think ford could have given it that much of a wrap. They would have realised...

    Where to buy VS parts?

As VLDave has said, $350 is about what you will pay for a 2.5" cat back exhaust. A few people on these forums have picked up second hand ones from a wreckers for about $40 or even less, so it might be worth looking into that to save you some money.

    Covering your car???

Probably as good as anything else if you are short on space. My parents put up one of the tent sorta ones that they got from supercheap or somewhere like that. It seems alright. Easy to put up, ya just gotta secure it to the ground well if you live in a windy area. Otherwise its like a big sail...
