I had this problem on my vz wagon. The fuel flap where it attaches to the guard has a foam type gasket which squashes up and fuel vapors get past. Unscrew it and smear silastic on the gasket and on the end of the screws before you screw it back on.
I doubt that is the case. When I was a mechanic the compressor regulator was set to 140psi to keep up with air tools and any other air operated equipment in the workshop. It takes a few mins for a tyre to inflate from dead flat.
Inflating tyres to 50psi or more will increase the chances of...
Make sure its on the compression stroke and not the exhaust stroke. Put compression tester in no 1 cyl and turn over by hand and watch for the gauge to raise a little. Use a long peice of wire (coat hanger) down the plug hole to determine when the piston is at tdc.
How much fuel came out when it cranked?
Was the pressure high and was there plenty of volume?
Try squirting some aerostart in the manifold and see if it will start. If it's got spark it should at least fire for a short time
Took the door trim off again to see if i could find anything and i did. A broken head off one of the rivets.
While the window was half way down i could grab the glass and lift it 1/2 inch which seemed a bit odd. I tried the passenger side but it didnt move quite as much.
Some pics below of the...
Changed my park light globes for LED's
Pulled off the drivers door trim in an attempt to rectify the drivers side electric window.
Still no luck. Could lift the window up and down about 1/2 inch and found one of the alloy pop rivet heads broken off.
I have never heard so much rubbish in my life.
There is more fuel contamination at higher revs than when idling.
As the engine continues to idle the temp's go up not down and if the engine is running rich the O2 sensors would pick this up and adjust accordingly.
Excessive idling would cause...
Lodged a case with RACV after coming too close to a VT commodore on friday arvo.
I was turning left on dual carriage way and he was doing a u-turn to the left of me where I wasn't looking.
It is a power window.
When I have the door trim off I will try and get some pics. All I could see was the black regulator.
I did peel back the rubber seal at the top of the door and the glass was higher than the metal frame of the door by about 4mm where as the passenger side glass was level...
Not so interested in how many more litres i can squeeze in while getting RSI doing it, more so how many litres people can fill from empty.
How many litres will your VZ Calais take from empty?
Hi All,
Had my VZ SVZ for a few weeks now and have filled up a few times only to get 55 litres maximum into the tank before the nozzle clicks off.
Dash said the fuel level was low (not very low) and 17km's till empty.
I have heard/read the VZ is meant to have a 75 litre tank.
Would be...
It is possible the timing of it all is not right as the other doors don't have the same issue. I pulled the door trim off and did notice the window reg has been replaced before so it could be a faulty one.
It appears the windows is going up too far causing the top of the window frame to bend over slightly.
If i dont put the window all the way up the door closes find but when its all the way up then i have to slam it.
Anyone know if there are any adjustments on the window regulator to stop the...
Definately worth the cash and with the existing mods i would also look at a larger throttle body, manifold insulator and high ratio roller rockers if you can afford them.
How do you find the space in the back compared to some of the earlier wagons such as VY/VZ?
Mate of mine had a VE Sportwagon as a company car and he wasnt happy with the space in the back.
Blue LED's you would be able to source on ebay.
You might find the interior a bit dark at night when the interior lights are on as there wont be much reflection.
