Sorry to necro this thread, but I'm having an issue with my front left shock that no mechanic, holden or otherwise, seems to be able to FIND, let alone FIX.
In cold weather, the shock makes a metallic rattle sound. It's really loud and annoying, but completely disappears when the day warms up to over 20 degrees. This is part of the problem methinks, as the day is usually warmer by the time a mechanic looks at it. Even when I get it back I can't tell if its gone until later that night when the temp drops.
I've printed out every single thing from this website on suspension rattle, and both holden and my own mechanic have said that none of these things are causing my problem. Its something else.
What could cause suspension rattle in cold weather but not warm weather?
Could it be that the actual shock is shagged on the inside where a mechanic cant look?
Should i bite the bullet and go to pedders?
I've spent so much on this problem with no results; it's driving me absolutely mad.
