Hey guys just signed up,
Have been pretty keen on my Holdens all my 29 years on planet earth.
First was a VL berlina,(Calais paint, LSD,extractors, pod, neon's, custom leather and a few lighting mods)
Second hand purchase buy my parents for me.
Next VY HBD/HSVi Equipe Lots of HBD mods but nothing to flashy. Purchased from my father in law.
Which brings me onto my next car, which is on its way from Tassie as we speak.
After about 6 months of looking around i was set on a 09 or 10 SSV wagon.
I was looking for one with:
Low KM
a few mods (nothing to bad)(insurance)
Nice colour maybe voodoo blue
around the $30,000 plus whatever i got for me VY
Now the car yards offered $4000 for my VY and i pretty much told them to Jam it.
Listed privately and sold for $8000 within a week.
(anyway that's a whole nother story)
So i was having a hard time finding what i wanted and timing it so that i would have the cash at the same time.
Cutting a long story short i new something had to give, so i opened up to Sedans as well.
Found a few nice ones but nothing really solid.
Got to a Dealer here in Adelaide who just purchased one from a dealer in Taz
2010 SSV Sedan
Silver
6 Speed
One owner
14,000km
no mods
By the time i get tint and extend the warranty it will be about $32,000 all up.
Obviously pending my inspection when it gets here as well.
What my questions/Queries are:
These cars are market valued at $38,000-$40,000, why did i get mine so cheap?????
What things should i check when it arrives?
Tyres-make sure they are the same all the way round.
Inside-Quality, no rips, damage.
Outside-paint quality/shine/straightness
Log books......if anything
Test drive-what should i look for?
Now the Dealer said that of course they will service it when it gets here, but they don't expect it
to have any major issues with only 14,000km on the clock.
They phoned me last week to say that had someone check it out before it left Tassie and he said it was perfect and he could not fault it.
(car yard BS or what)
So yeah, just looking for some help guys.
One other thing i found really interesting was insurance
The variance in quotes was astronomical Lowest being CGU $895 Full comp (who i have my house and partners car insured with)
Highest being Progressive $2005.00 WTF?
Sorry for the long thread guys, but i look forward to any help i can get.
I do also want to point out i will be looking at future mods (OTR air, Extractors, Exhaust + visual (engine bay dress up)
Thanks
