I wonder what his MPH is?

Here; he has about 3 threads going ATM.

hey ppls,

with the following information below can anyone shed some light on why I cant seem to get into the 11s?

I have been to the street meets recently and consistently runs 12.2s on all passes

12.2 @ 114mph 60' 1.905
12.2 @ 111mph 60' 1.822
12.2 @ 113mph 60' 1.863
12.2 @ 112mph 60' 1.830

now from that and with 440rwhp/3500 stall converter/3.9 gears, et streets ranging 16-18psi I worked on a et calculator with the weight of a vz ss 6l , 3646lb
with 440rwhp gives me rough et of 11.79 but all I can manage is 12.2 is there something that's not right or could my converter be stuffed.

LOL, I missed the other thread....

I believe HP/ET calculators are based on fly wheel hp or bhp instead of rwhp.

Where are you getting your rwhp figure from?

MPH would suggest your running similar power to Munz as posted above, he however runs a better ET because his total package is more optimised.

maybe the car isn't delivering power smoothly, what does your dyno sheet look like?

12.2 @ 114mph isn't to bad considering the mph. Suggests it's possibly not making as much power as expected.

Or a cam grind flat as a tack and makes the 330rwkw in the upper rpm range.

Could be, dyno sheet should shed some light.

If that is the case than a much higher stall and diff gears to match to make use of such a peaky power band.

im running 3.9 gears, have a 3500 stall converter

mph is around 114mph, 440rwhp, cam is a vcm 3 rev to 7000rpms if that helps

Do you have an actual dyno print out? What we are looking for is the power curve in relation to RPM. Chances are you need a higher stall converter.

Do you have actual cam specs?

edit: never mind, found this.

VCM-3 Camshaft

Cam Profile: 228 / 232 0.597” 112 LSA
RPM Range: 2500-6800.
One of the first three camshafts in the VCM line-up, the VCM3 is a split duration cam designed for serious street performance in offering strong mid and upper rpm range power. Offering almost .600” lift, the VCM3 must be accompanied by quality valve springs for an engine that offers effective performance from 2500rpm all the way up to 6800rpm without power drop-off. Should use high stall converter in auto transmission vehicles, with a recommended diff ratio of at least 3.7. Expect in the vicinity of 280-290 rwkW (5.7) and over 300 rwkW with 6.0 and 6.2 litre engines.
