got any bites yet?
Few time wasters but nothing solid.
Was looking at it today and thinking i might just do the cab swap and then see how i feel about selling it. Tbh, need the cash more than the car right now.

make a scratch

the measurements and the pictures they supply in the instructions dont really go together. it marks the outer circle of the adapter hole which is 40 something mm. but they want a cut 35mm wide. i made it to about 40mm wide and 30mm deep.

took it apart again and shaved some more off the top section. good to go.

did some funky bends in the dipstick tube. it was hard up against one of the ac hookups. hope it all works out. sat the extractors on this side to make sure it still clears, we're good to go. the stick has a little trouble getting back down the tube, but theres no oil in it either. think when the system is wet again should be fine. fingers crossed. worst case ill have to figure something else out.

modified the original plastic starter cover. used some 2k heat set plastic repair stuff. used some grease paper as a backing to cream over the starter hole. then taped a cardboard channel on the back to make side extension. gave it a lick of 2k matt black, looks glossy but will dull off a little after it bakes. this fusor 100ez **** is crazy strong, sticks like you wouldnt believe. it can take high temperatures too. will be interesting to see how long it lasts. whacked a self tapper in there as theres no starter motor to hold it in place. someone should just cast a custom bellhousing for this conversion already. use a stock style starter for the other side, no stupid adapters, spacers and all that crap.

love these mini PPS liners for small jobs. perfect for when you forget to paint a door handle or mirror cover. which pretty much happens to every car i paint...

Is a spray painter by trade, rips engine out - but won't paint bay.....

C'mon man, don't be lazy - or you'll kick yourself for not doing it now later on!

But in all fairness, that bay is in really good nick.

I agree with stockies, I regret not painting my engine bay while I had the engine out...
Been watching for ages but good to see this finally come together

i hear you both of you on that. im always toiling over other peoples paintwork, last thing i want to do is come home and look at spending another 10 hours on this engine bay lol. i should just piss a little color in here and there where its missing though. touch up some scratches and that. i havent touched the car since i washed the engine bay, took the last couple of weekends to just chill out and enjoy doing nothing. ill get back into it soon. im going to start installing the engine loom to the engine, and prep some more stuff in the engine bay. delete that center console wire that hangs under the trans tunnel. stuff like that.

in other news, photobucket is no longer hosting 3rd party photos unless you pay their premium service. no problem, they only charge $400 a year for that lol. looks like im going to have to figure something else out here. not sure i want to edit all the posts with new links. they did all this with no warning too btw.
