if your low beam lights are going out when you put the high beams on it means you have the low beam kit only, you need to buy the High/Low kit, it is an extra $50 ( i got mine from jaycar), this kit allows the low beam to go to high beam as well as the high beams to illuminate, as per normal on standard headlights

I just installed 4300K lights to my VZ.

Thanks to the original poster - I needed a hint on the wiring.

One side of my Adventra had red/white and just red (no blue stripe).
Polarity was normal.
The other side had red/white and red/blue, with the polarity reversed!
(didn't shine, had to switch the wires and all was good)
