To my shame I did watch Charlie get his new to him hat. That is I watched the news bit. My defence is I had already sat down and couldn't be bothered getting up again.

It cost according to the news $180 million, I bet he didn't get to pay for any of it. I think I could have found better ways to spend that sort of money.
If you’re talking about the royal crown it didn’t cost $180 million, thats what it’s worth now. Probably didn’t cost them anything as they probably stole all the gold and gems from the natives of the various lands they conquered.

I think you'll find the whole shebang pompass ceramony cost $180 mill and you can bet your bottom dollar, the monarchy didn't pay a single penny for it....

Maybe horse drawn carriages and furry coats are the way to the future, if the climate luvvies and extinction rebellion nutters win by then.

But horse farts.

I believe that hat cost nothing, I'm pretty sure of the shiny stuff was stolen when "Britannia ruled the waves".

Like most of the "Royal jewels" were

Much like how, where ever they went, slavery and theft of resources was "the thing to do at the time"

Us convicts got a pretty good deal if you ask me. Much rather be in Australia than the UK! At least the sun exists here.

I watched it (Brit but apathetic about the royals).

Was interesting to watch as a piece of history (the might get disbanded and it never happen again!).
No-one does pomp and circumstance better either, 4500 troops marching out and the blingiest coach you'll ever see.

Finally it was lots of fun following the memes of:
  • Snoke's dressing gown
  • Fallen horse at the National
  • Generation game conveyor belt of gifts

My dear old mum loved the royals. This was taken in 1963 at Windsor where mum worked. Queen Elizabeth came to visit. Mum is 3rd from left
