I‘d also put a light smear of grease around the periphery of the centre boss fter you’ve cleaned the paint off ;)

She's in. As per usual I checked the TC span freely every step of pulling the TM towards the engine. Converter is home and all 3 bolts tight and locked in with threadlocking stuff.

BUT.... I asked the tranny guy do I need to fill the converter before putting it in and he said no, let the pump fill it. If you do fill it you'll make a mess when you put it in.

So now I have a dry converter and really don't want to be pulling it all apart for the 4th time..

Such conflicting information man... WTF...

Probably either (empty or full) converter will work. Just be aware that the fluid level will drop like a bomb as the converter and cooling lines refill.

When l had a converter built for my 6L50 conversion, l asked the builder if the converter needed filling before mounting onto the trans shaft?
He said don't worry about it, as there is that much pressure from the pump, that it will fill the converter immedately.
