Thanks. Hatchback Toranas will always be my porn, probably one of the best Holden shapes ever IMO.

Anyway, small update. Finished stripping the paint off the L/H door and epoxy primed it inside and out.

Just bought an SL/R cluster. Got it relatively cheap, only thing is it's only got the 160km/h speedo, not the 200km/h and it's LH not LX. I don't really care though, i only really wanted the extra gauges and tacho. I guess that's the good thing about it being a cut up UC, i can buy whatever i want...

Yeh, i know, but honestly even though i've bought the scoop i'm still in 2 minds about using it. I think i might paint the bonnet with no hole in it and see what i think, if i'm happy with it i'll leave it. I can always fit the scoop at a later date. The motor will just squeeze under the bonnet if i try hard enough.

no one.

You can't say no one when you do :p

Anyway, i got a new (well, second hand rebuilder) standard bore 4 bolt block. I've had it hot tanked and bored .040, i got it back last weekend and dummied it up to check deck height, it needs .010 off the decks to achieve 0 deck height. So, it's back at the machinists now getting decked and new cam bearings fitted then i'll get it back and start putting it together. I also cleaned up some daggy castings inside and out and clearanced the pan rails ever so slightly to allow for the 383 crank. The comp will end up around 10.8:1 with the AFR heads. It should go 500hp or very close to. Hopefully it goes ok :p

Haha, thanks mate. Long time no post?

You mean air filter out the bonnet? Na, not really a fan of that, it's either under the bonnet or covered by the A9X scoop for me. I'm also looking at putting this on club registration, and anything out the bonnet not covered by a reverse cowl type scoop is a big no-no.

Stay tuned for some engine related updates tonight.
