Hi hoping for some assistance. Have 2000 VT commodore. New coil packs. New crank angle sensor, has good fuel pressure. Plenty of spark. Put my Launch X431 pro scan tool on and there are no faults. Car will crank occasionally try to fire very brief , but will not start. Have bypassed security in case this was causing it still nothing. Would greatly appreciate some further ideas or knowledge.

which engine
how have you bypassed security and why, is there something else you need to tell us

but i would be suspecting a fuel delivery issue

Haha. Nothing dodgey. Have voltage at injectors. I bypassed the security with my scan tool to eliminate any potentials with BCM and ECU being paired. Long story but the ladie that owns the car had some cowboys work on it and the ECM was out so not sure if swapped out. She doesnt know either. Just trying to follow the. process of elimination. And V6 sorry

When the car is locked, does the mode switch red light blink?
When the car is unlocked, does the mode light go off?
If that light goes off, now try & start the car.

That mode light is what is called vats which means vehicle anti theft system.

On my vt if l don't start the car within 30 seconds, car won't start. This is not always the case.

Light goes on when locked yes, goes out for 30 seconds when unlocked then starts to flash again. I turned the anti theft of in my scanner.. no change

Car died on the highway. The cowboys that worked on it did an engine swap. I programmed another new key for it this morning still no go. Can smell fuel. Tries to fire here and there but thats it.

Tried start ya bastard, does fire for a bit longer but pops through tge intake. Checked 02 sensors they seem to be working as they should.
Fuel relay is working. Checked that on scan tool this morning. On when cranking and plenty of fuel getting to the rail.

Fuel side sounds ok.

Electrical. With the stalling & not starting, cas or dfi?
Start with the dfi, disconnect dfi plug from the dfi. now check the pins on the plug?
Are any burnt or bent?
