Not want you want to hear, however, tinting your rear lights on a vehicle, for road use, makes them illegal as they no longer comply with ADR (Australian Design Rules).

Any (ANY) modification(s), unless approved to ADR standards, that change/alter/modify any aspect of your vehicle from the ADR standards/requirements that existed at the time of manufacture of your vehicle are ILLEGAL.

I purchased mine from Holmart (excellent service and good gear) and was easy to swap over.

I have my tailights tinted with night shades and they're not too dull but we lightly wet sanded the outside of them first so it'd stick better and have a better texture to them
