I can definitely get more paint if need be! Just grabbed the 2 litres to begin with.
How many L do you recon ill need?
I used to hear from spray painters l knew (this is 35 years ago) 4 litres of paint, that was for a sedan. Can't remember how much thinners? Maybe 4 litres?

You can gun thinners for cleaning spray equipment. Lot cheaper. But don't use gun cleaner with the paint.

Good luck with the project!

Cheers :) I'd say I'll need a bit less than a sedan, 3L maybe? I'll see how I go. Be glad to get this one finished, new seats about to go in and a few dash repairs + fresh paint and she'll be done.
Then onto the wagon...

Best to get 4L. You will need it, especially being red.

Better to have to much, than not enough.

With to much the colour should be spot on. Not sleightly different shades.

And that's it, if you need a touch up the paint will be the same shade.

Clear lacquer is cheap. Grab four litres of that as well and shoot clear over the red. Unless you are a very good painter you will have a fair amount of blocking back being acrylic and you don't want to rub through.

My issue with using a clear is the potential to peel in a few years
I'm not the best painter but not too bad either.. The patches I have done over primer look pretty good/smooth with a good shine. I'll get a better photo tomorrow

Red is one of the worst colours. It thins really quickly. Clear should last as long or longer than red. Have to remember red is one of those colours that ends up with less base in it as they use a different base which has a lot of tint in it and less actual paint.

The original red held up pretty well for 33 year old paint. Be happy if I could get the exact same formula stuff lol
Didn't have a factory clear coat either

I may have missed a key point here..
This paints a base to mix 1:1 - 1:1.5 ratio with thinners so all up I've got 4L once everything's combined properly
