Hey All,

I have a vk with four disc brakes on it now with original v8 booster and master, which isn’t braking well for me

What and where can I get rear brakes/hubs/rotars to suit vt brake upgrade. I’m looking at getting vt master & booster with front hub adapters to suit vk to vt.

I’m having trouble finding a set up for my rear. What’s the trick?

rear VTs on a VK?
don't waste your money, front VT brakes (pads, rotors and calipers) will easily stop a VK
add braided hose if you want to be serious

I run VT fronts and std VK rears on my race car... it stops from the wrong side of $2.00
lap after lap ...

I have vt m/cyl & booster on stock vp brakes...290mm single piston fronts & same rear disc setup from 1979 vb to 1999 vs utes.

Looks like it wants to do endo whenever goes for rego brake tests that I cbf'd putting vt front brakes on it until stockers need replacing.

Also have markovr backing plates to suit rear vt brakes...they're overkill but will use them one day when collect all the parts.

Was it originally a drum rear?

Tags on car & pics of m/cyl booster setup.

Booster should be larger double diapram think & usual upgrade was 1" m/cyl but normally smaller size.

Don't know if they have different restrictor olive or brake valve like old holdens did with drum & disc.

Really think it needs good brake bleed or a vacuum leak with booster or lines.

My vh sle stock brakes had really nice pedal for something with dirty big f280 cam.

I believe there is a different brake MC for drum brakes.

From memory there's not much physical difference from VK to VS in the rear.
VR and VS suffered from anmeic front brakes, which always fade.
The rears were never much of an issue.

VT to VZ just go thicker non vented rears to aid in repeated stopping performance.
