Yep. Wrong or missing thermostat would cause worse fuel economy.

Ok all of this below is done, why do I still have high fuel use, I am about to drive it of a cliff
maf
plugs and leads
thermo both sensors and the the thermo its self
o2 sensors earth is good
oil and air filter
cleaned the throttle body and pelham
Pull out tank no leaks
Please help thanks guys

Anybody been playing around with the throttle stop setting on your throttle body?
They're set at factory and shouldn't be touched.

welcome to the club, mine burning a tank in 220km..and not heavy on the gas.. done the same as you and still no joy. Starting to think maybe a re-tuned memcal could be an answer. Have you had any mods done? and did you replace the breather hose from top of the tank with the originals from holden(1 goes to the filler neck, the other goes to the fuel lines) the smaller hose is genuine only. its like 5.74mm or something ridiculous like that..holden had to order it in and i put them on today, so will see if it makes any difference..

have you checked your vacuum lines both going to the tank and elsewhere around the engine bay?
